It appears that the dreaded COVID-19 is imposing some heavy restrictions to having fun on our bikes. Track days and other other such activities are being rapidly shut down. Champions ride days are the latest casualty. I think we are all going to go stir crazy. We will just have to be content with locking ourselves in our sheds and focusing on completing all of our unfinished projects.
I’m thinking that anything that increases the likleyhood of ending up in emergency in hospital is best avoided over the coming months.. including riding anywhere at 10/10ths, on the road or the racetrack. Highly likely our excellent hospital system (by world standards), is shortly going to be totally overwhelmed ,, fingers crossed it doesn’t happen but unnecessarily being in hospital if it does, will most certainly not be a pleasant or healthy experience.
Geez Gizz, way to muck with my head. I was going to go for a ride tomorrow and now you've put the fear of God into me!
No, no, don’t worry! Perfectly ok to smash a leg bone tomorrow , and for at least a while longer......maybe a bit of a different story in a couple of weeks though! Sorry for being morose. I’m in my second week of isolation after returning from Italy.. and missing out on visiting the moto Guzzi museum at lake Como... getting home become a bit of a priority when 90% of the flights were cancelled and the country moved into total lockdown overnight!
All joking aside Gizz, getting out of Italy was your best option. I'm pretty sure you can't die from 2 weeks of isolation.
I’m guessing international parts deliveries may take longer.. less planes means less space in cargo holds. As demand for goods from China decreases as people stop shopping due to decreasing income and the closure of retailers, there may also be less cargo boats.. those desperately needed parts may sit on docks much longer waiting for boats to be filled. Who knows what’s going to happen?
I went to Aldi today to buy one of their Wednesday 'specials' that they advertise weeks before ... was told the item I wanted wasnt even in the country yet
We had advice come through today that our Airfreight charges have gone from approx $6 per kg a couple of weeks ago to over $15 per kg and rising. Most A/F was on commercial flights and there are SFA of them now so space is at a premium. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Things are re-opening in California. Went to track day at Laguna Sega couple weeks ago. Couple of idiots decided not to follow rules about wearing facemask shut it down after lunch and sent everyone home.
Those MT09s are a weapon Linkin. Had a ride on a mates and it lifted its front wheel in the first 4 gears after he told me not to ride it like a P---Y...... I reckon I'd maintain my license for around a week if I owned one of those things. Would be a total blast on a race track.
