Hello all, I wanted to share the ridiculous build I have done on my ever developing track machine. I love the bike ad I think the engine and chassis are still top notch in the class and besides I am in too deep now I started with a 1990 VTR250 and raced it for a year but then bought a grey market F2H since it was supposed to have a fair bit more power. It turns out that it doesn't Here is a rundown of all the mods on my bike: De-tabbed, lightened and seam welded the frame at the head tube braces then powder coated. 1990 VTR250 swingarm 1989 CBR600F Hurricane rear wheel (17x3.5") with a CBR125 disc brake Custom rearsets Airtech Streamlining bodywork 1990 Honda CB-1 complete front end with cartridge internals (3" wheel/fender/caliper/rotor/triples w/VTR250 steering stem welded in) Chinese clip-ons Magura 15mm HC3 radial master cylinder Russel braided brake line & Carbonne Loraine brake XBK5 pads, ti banjo and rotor bolts CBR600F4 shock custom built with proper spring, extended and custom valved CBR600RR coil on plug conversion CBR1000RR kill switch and throttle housing with a R6 tube for 1/6 turn CB-1 non vacuum petcock Koso RX2-NR GP tach with temperature All Balls steering bearings Custom rear sprocket by Rebel Gears Quick shifter Factory Pro shift kit and jet kit AntiGravity LiFePo battery New parts and plans on the bench: Full race undercut transmission from a 1990 VTR250 (runs a 428 chain instead of heavier 520) VF500F +1mm pistons and rings Yamamoto Titanium exhaust imported from Japan meant for a 2009ish VTR250, needs some modification Going to machine some weight off the stator Spada 250 Intake cams (searching...) Here is the VTR when I bought it July 2013 And ready for my first track day a month later Then for my first race the following spring
On to some action shots with the VTR250 I had a lot of fun toward the back of the 250 Lightweight Supersport grid that year but finished the year by winning the season ending 2 hour endurance race in the Solo category!
Then I bought the 1987 VT250F2H from a shady importer in Toronto. I bought some paint and a $15 gun And then I put her in the weeds Then my girlfriend got hooked and bought a 2011 CBR250R
Relationship goals right there! (Once the dust settles from the current happy shake-up I'll post about elsewhere, that is...)
Maybe I'll get lucky and kiffsta will send me some in my box that hopefully also contains Spada cams!
I had achieved my two main goals for 2016, to get into the 1:24's and to beat #509 who I could last season not keep in sight. In the two final rounds (4 races) I beat him twice! Here's a few cool shots of our battles.
Good on you spot. If you can get in front of 509 then you should be able to stay there as in most of the photos he is looking at you and not where to go.
I have been busy this off season! I pulled the engine and refreshed it. I built a new dash and support. I made a beauty Yamamoto header for a 2007+ VTR250 fit my bike. I got the CB-1 front wheel powdercoated to match and I got a RedBull wrap on my front fender. This was the header as I got it
