No difference if they're wired in series @Frankster ,
Also a coil with no or little primary resistance would only have a few primary winding's, so wouldn't make a very big spark

This confused me. Ohm's law is Voltage = Current x Resistance (V=IR, I is current) but it slightly misleading because voltage is set/supplied "force", and current is the resultant flow through the resistance. When working out total resistance, in series (a single line of flow through each resistor one after the other) the resistance is added - R total = R1 +R2 +... In parallel (think of it as turning on multiple taps, one pressure source, more opportunities for water to escape, greater amount of water escaping) the total is found by adding the inverse of the resistances: R total= 1/(R1) + 1/(R2) +....

Once you have your total resistance, then you go back to ohm's law to work out the current. Of course, you could connect your multimeter once it's wired in to confirm it.

One thing to note: if they're in series, then both coils stop working if one is faulty, but if they're in parallel, one can stop working and the other will keep working normally.

Last helmet was way out of date and loose on my head after losing weight ... so Ive had to drop a size ... its a very snug fit but hopefully will get better with a bit of use ...

Nice. I recently bought a -17 and it is a good fit and reasonably quiet too.

I finally got my shipment from Japan.. 3 days for EMS to get it from Japan to Sydney and into the Australia Post system.. and then nearly 10 days to get to me.. still... it arrived with my SRX6 lower bridge & stem, plus an SRX6 front axle.
I also picked up a headlight mount (it will need a little modification to fit) and a good set of mirrors.. plus another kilo or 2 of SRX mixed nuts and bolts..

Side by side with the FZR item

So the plan is to swap the stems Andy? Aus customs might have to record everything so they can ban anyone who goes over the $75000 mark and does not register for GST with the ATO. That would slow down deliveries a lot.

Haha, it actually cleared Customs etc in the 3 days ex Japan. I use Zenmarket and they had all the correct paperwork showing the GST etc.
it was purely Australia Post that took 8 days to get it to me.

I would love it if it was as simple as swapping stems.
The FZR stem is welded in and the section above the top bearing is different so it will be a custom machined stem or, just looking at it, we may be able to get away with an insert into the top bearing recess which will accommodate the standard upper bearing from the SRX6. The bearings are 15mm deep where the FZR are 13mm. All other sizes are the same.
I will talk to my machinist and see what he thinks.

When I had a good look at the tyres I bought I realised that I had clicked on a rear tyre instead of a front tyre and then looking up the specs the tread pattern is different front to rear. So I called the eBay seller (a Yamaha Dealer) and he arranged a new front tyre to come in and I shot over this morning to collect it.. even though it should have been $10 more he just swapped it over with no charge.. so a big shout out to Trooper Lu's Garage at Moorebank (Liverpool) and specifically to Marcus in spare parts.. Way more helpful than my local Yamaha Dealer..
While there I had a look at the new R6, while I am not a big fan of the newer bikes.. this think looked really good..
Anyway.. Blatant plug for Trooper Lu's is now over :)

I use Trooper Lu's website for parts catalogue. It's one if 3 online parts catalogue websites that are continually open, along with this forum, daily Mass readings, TMR, PPSR, and 5-10 other sites... But a very bike bias!

IMG_20180913_154049.jpg Took 2 weeks from order, not that I had time to work on the bike. Mc19. Paid the $30 for Australian seller to be quicker, too.

Postie dropped off a bill for me today from BOC for my Mig gas, $237 for 1 year's rent !

When i was at Bunning's today i asked them about getting gas from there, i was told it's a $200 deposit and that give's you a full D Size bottle.
When it's empty you take it back and swap it over for $99 and that's it, no yearly rental.
If you ever want to take the bottle back you can get your deposit back with the receipt.
But the bottle is half the size of what i'm using now, my E2 bottle is $99 changeover.

Only thing is i still have half a bottle of gas left and i don't really want to give that to BOC.
Anyone in SA need some Argoshield Light with an empty E2 size bottle that need's a 1/4 refill ?
Not sure if i can swap the bottle with someone else as the bottle's serial number is recorded against my name.

I thought BOC must have dropped the rental, too, everyone else seemed to. Even lose the bunnings bottles, it is cheaper than a year's rent!

I went and bought an E bottle from Gasweld so I own the bottle and Just pay the refill charge (which is around $100) and no rental to anybody. BOC, Airliquide and others only want big customers with lots of bottles being rented and have no interest in anybody with only one bottle rental.

I had a few items arrive from Megazip. I cannot believe the size of the flippin box they put this stuff in.

I received an air filter from CMS today and could have put four filters in the box instead of all the packing for one.

Their shipping is pricey and the boxes are huge, but you can't deny that they don't get here fast.

Absolutely. And they are genuine Yamaha parts as well so I am happy with that.
I mean it isn’t often you can order the trip
Meter button / winder and the tiny little screw to retain it for a 30 year old bike and have it arrive in less than a week.
