G'day! 30 yr old from Auckland. Have to say - what an epic forum! Such a wealth of 250cc knowledge.. I'm so impressed. I've spent a lot of time involved with the rally scene here in NZ and never grew up riding bikes so I'm reasonably new to riding. Probably been a few years now but I haven't done any track days or really developed my riding technique on any level yet. So far I've owned.. - 2004 Suzuki GSX-250 (at the time i thought it looked quick.. but soon discovered I was very, very mistaken) - 2x Honda nc24 Vfr-400s - one i rebuilt and sold, the other was a clapped out death machine. - Kawasaki ZXR-250a - great bike! - Yamaha FZR-250r 3ln-3 - current bike.. but in pieces getting put back together/functionally restored. Keen to get into track days with the rebuilt FZR and maybe put together another one as a track only bike. From there.. who knows! Really want to master riding these little ones before i step up to something else.. And when i do I'll definitely keep my smaller bikes - these era 250's are so cool! I'm already liking the look of the zxr front forks and r6r rear shock.. im 6"1 and 80kg so not reallllly ideal for the standard set up. Here's a couple of pics of my old bikes and the current Yamaha. Looking forward to chatting to you all Cheers Andy
