Quick update, just painted rear fairings and re bled the brakes. Adjusted the rear brake switch and fit the indicators, now all lights are working sweet. Fit one mirror just waiting on the left one to arrive then paint it and more parts stick in shipping but almost there Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Still waiting on the air filter and gotta soak the rubbers, but it runs ok without the box on. Still needs a tune though Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Throttles a bit sticky but I've worked out that the cables are too tight. I think that would be due to the cables not routed properly. Not sure where they go into the frame or under the frame, there's a hole where the coils sit but that's too tight of a turn to be for the cables. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Never mind, as it turns out that is the hole for the cables I was just trying to route them under the steering instead of through the cowl frame. Still a bit stiff but i think that's in the throttle tube, at least is snaps back now thats the main thing. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Thats so dam clean brother, mines a total mess, I'm just trying to get it back on the road at this stage. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
So had the airbox rubbers soaking in wintergreen oil for about a month and a half now and they still aren't soft and still aren't fitting the carbs so may need to get new ones anyone know where I can get them cheap? Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Yeah thats true, so where can I get them from? The dealer here doesn't have them in stock and I don't want to wait another 2 months to order them in. Or should I just re-soak the old ones? They might have absorbed all the oil. Could be why they aren't there yet Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
They're around $25ea from Yamaha, part number 1HX-14453-00-00 They are also used on the FZX250 Zeal on the 2x outer carby's And ask your dealer to check the Australian stock, they can tell you if another dealer has them, then you can ring them and buy them from there and have them posted to you A new one on ebay atm https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Yamaha-...m23daf6ebc7:g:fzYAAOSwKONfA965&frcectupt=true
Would they work with the 3ln1? I've got a different part number but if they both Essentially the same ill go see them tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Sorry, i reckon i listed the 3LN6 and 3LN7 boot above, it's longer than the 3LN1-3LN5 3LN1 - 3LN5 part number is 3LN-14453-00-00
Yeah thats the number I gave the dealership, they have nothing in the country and their deliveries come by sea (still waiting on my air filter after 2 months) think I might just get some more oil and rubbing alchohol and do a second soak. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Try a heat gun as you are fitting them, unless they have shrunk too much. New ones make all the difference, the airbox just literally pops onto the carbs with no effort.
Heat gun ( hard dryer) worked a treat. She ran ok, not great but good enough. Then I was getting her cleaned up for the road worthy and she decided no to run any more. From what I remember while I was cleaning the carbs, some of the needles were a bit worn and some screw were a bit corroded. Is this kit ok or can I get one like it that will work? Keyster kits from motorcycle spares warehouse. You need to identify what your carbs are (3LN1 or 3LN3/5 or 3LN6/7) and order the corresponding kits. Id also go for litetek seal kits over what they supply in the keyster kits.
Before you go doing the full carb overhaul, which is a good idea, it should still run. Check the compression, fuel supply and spark. How old are the plugs?
I'm pretty sure those carby kit's are for 3LN6/7, that seller won't answer any question's on the jet size's to confirm it's 3LN6/7
