Hi all Need some help have a 1989 zx250a, chassis number in middle 300 1. Though I would change drive sprocket, rear wheel sprocket and chain bought the parts but on dismantling the drive sprocket discovered it is held on the shaft with two plain washers and two serrated washers and a circlip also instead of 14 teeth it has 15 teeth sprocket fitted any thought on this setup would be appreciated 2. Also thought I should check the engine number, where on the engine would I find the engine number? Many thanks steve
Standard gearing is rear sprocket 48 teeth and front 14 teeth 15 would give less "acceleration" and more top speed This is the parts schematic showing how the front sprocket is attached Put up a photo of your bike and of your sprocket setup
Hi This is the drive sprocket set up, circlip seems to hold everything together And still not found engine number. many thanks Steve
Images didn't attach properly. https://www.ebay.com/itm/191976726241?hash=item2cb2b45ee1:g:IyMAAOSwqu9U~Hy2 appears to have an image of the engine number but I cannot tell where that is on the block.

Engine number runs along the bottom of the engine , find the bottom of the clutch cover then peek underneath that is the wrong sprocket for your bike , this is what it should look like
