    Hi All,

Just wanted to clarify something with the ZXR250C owners out there...

I'm used to the original ZXR250A swingarms which are rectangular and box-shaped. The latter "C" swingarm is more detailed around the axle area and has additional welds. I have seen 2 of these "C" swingarms and they both have a dint on the RHS around where the muffler joins the 4-2-1 collector. While this looks like damage, I'm wondering if everyone elses "C" swingarms have the same "damage" in exactly the same spot?

    Cheers

Yeup my c model is dented and my A was dented. Most likely because every single one has been dropped at one point in its life.

Instead of a redesign I think they just must have given the header/exhaust installers on the assembly line a big hammer :D ... or it just hits when u bounce over a major bump

So, has anyone got one that doesn't have the dint? It seems almost unbelievable that every C we own/have has been dropped on its RHS...don't you think?

Yeah, mine didn't have an indentation in the swingarm.

All those photos are crash damage.

Doesnt really surprise me , especially being old bikes and learner/p plate used and abused ..... and its a pretty solid fat setup there where the join is onto the header pipe and its proximity to the swingarm ... FZR is nothing like that

None of my A swingarms has a dent in them. Do you know how hard you have to hit the swingarm to make that kind of dint? I thought since the C swingarm has those little dints on the inside (on both sides) that it might have been standard...wrong again Frankster!

I put a dent in my one when I had a little lie down in Tawonga Gap Rd, straighted it with a bolt in the pickup thread and a mallet. Good as new.

I'll be removing said dents in future. The TAFE folks removed the dent that was in the swingarm that was extended for the salt bike. We did argue about if it was "normal"...100% voted it as damage!

I cut open and pushed out the one in your 'Wasp' swing arm. It is only thin metal so would be easy to damage.

FYI the 1990 A2 model bikes had the same swingarm as the later C spec bikes...so the only bikes with the older looking swingarm are the first generation A1 and B1 bikes...

Yes, I remember you doing it. That's what got me thinking that all the C arms had the dent.
