Hi all, Ive seen this very cool GSX on gumtree and I think it s one of the best going around at the moment. Compliments to the builder. Are they a member of the forum and does anyone know anything about the build ? I'd love to build mine along these lines but my skills only go so far ....

Might look 'cool' but definately would not be registerable like that.

bit hard with just one photo ;) but things I can see..... or not see to be precise :)
chain guard, mirrors (2 needed) rear indicators (most of the combo strips don't meet the min width, making an assumption thats what is fitted to the bike) no number plate mount, side mounted is illegal in most states...inner guard missing not going to be fun with a stream of water and stones heading for the carbs.....

I was advised by a bike shop a few years ago to keep my bike registered while it was laid up. So I have for quite a few years to avoid those issues, and its cost a bit of money to do that. I thought I'd go down that path rather than have all the hassle of registration.. I remember many years ago as a young bloke trying to get a car licensed and getting knocked back because the indicators didn't self cancel well enough !

Haha, glad we don't have those kind of rego problem's in SA
20 year's + out of rego and if you have the number plates and engine number you can go in to motor reg and renew it without an inspection

Before starting to tear my motor to pieces I took the bike to the annual technical inspection, which it passed, I am very glad about it, but I was noted that I'm missing a parking light (true). I have no idea what you have to do here to get through the inspections with a cut frame like on the bike posted, I guess the customizing would have to be somehow officially documented.

Beautiful bike, but I agree the looks of a Cafe Racer are spoilt when you have to add all the compliant bits.

True, if its not legal on the road then all you have is a great looking track bike or shed ornament.
