has anyone used these ? Are they at least half decent for road use ? Dunlop alpha 14’s Only read bad reviews lol Have on pirelli sport demon on fronts and rear is Bridgestone battalax So here hoping it handles the same or better
@Linkin In my opinion, they are probably the best Sports Tyre you can get for a zxr , I use Dunlop gpr-300 Tyre and they wear quite well for commuting, but the alphas are by all accounts are next level
Thanks I wanted to try them for myself and see how they go, I’ve only read and heard bad things about them. Do these hold up good in regular commuting? I’m still new to riding but wanting to put my bike on track to practice more cornering and such. (like next year) as I’m slowly fixing the suspension and everything so it goes better than it is now.
They are awesome . only downside is they are quite soft and will square off if you commute with the bike . wet weather grip is great too even though it has little tread
Thanks, they won’t be fitted til next month as I’m changing the chain and sprockets then lol. Looking forward to trying them out though.
They are the best tyre you can get for the ZXR in my opinion. Just go for a ride around town and feel them once you stop. They warm up quick. Perform good in the wet as well thanks to their high silica and carbon black content. As for commuting, the rear will square off and the front will get road camber wear on the right hand side. Having your bikes' suspension properly set up will help with this a great deal. I am running the rear softer than standard (#2 setting), the front stiffer by a few mm of preload, less rebound and more compression on the front. Most workshops don't do it, but at my work we chemically clean the release agent off of the tyres with a rubber cleaning product, so that tyres are sticky from the moment they are fitted to a bike. Maybe ask your tyre fitters to do it.
