Pinned So what have you done to your bike today?

Thinking of making up a powered rollers to start the bikes any one done this do you have any plans your prepared to share

No plans. But the most sucessfull ones that I have seen are based on battery powered angle grinders. A chain between the 2 rollers is good idea.

 

When I was commuting and the bike was the only form of transport, I got used to flats unfortunately, ended up carrying the puncture repair plugs
There always seemed to be no shortage of woodworking screws unfortunately

 

I bought an ex police bike a while back for parts , a mate of mine saw it and wanted to fix it up and donate it to the police museum ,’so I was tasked with getting her going , she is now a runner with a new fuel pump and we are now waiting for the lights , siren and decals to arrive before being sent to the museum

Not sure where I got the info, but IIRC that was one of the selection criteria - the officer had to be able to lift the bike if they dropped it - thus they were all big guys

 

Forwards backwards land reared it's ugly head again today,,check out the seats

 

Sorry my eyes might be fooling me, looks like one of the inlets has been miscut, but it may be the light or lighting and they look to be quite pitted

 

I haven't touched the intake seats yet, cylinders 1 & 2 exhaust seats were , as per usual, pitted, the surprise was how the #3 exhaust seats are sitting, as if they are cocked to one side , I have no excuse NOT to make 30 degree & 70 degree cutters now, to try and save this head.
I'll have to look around for another MC19 head I recon

If the valves are not straight in the seats, and have worn that way, you should probably inspect the valve guides, my bet is that they are worn out.

got some stuff fro E bay today a set of conical rollers sprockets and chains as well as a 1400rpm 1.5 kw motor the first stage of a rolling roller bike starter i have yet to draw a design and get the metal work created
As i have said in the past I am getting to old to kick up some reluctant bikes
All ideas and suggestions welcome

Yesterday I did forks seals on the ZX-6R (what a painful job) and fixed the rear wheel. Today I fixed the forks (did I mention it was painful?). Then I rode it home, probably the longest ride, yet. And no issues! Well, it was dark.
