Hey guys, just after some opinions. I am considering a pair of bluetooth headsets and the gun units seem to be the Sena SMH10. The problem is that I'm not a wealthy guy and the price of those is, frankly, more than I want to spend. Has anyone got any experience with alternative systems? Battery life is less important to me than sound quality and a range of 500 metres would be fine. Thanks
I really like the Aldi ones... I got a set at the last yearly motorcycle sale I think they're like $80/set or something. Don't know if Perth is good enough to have an Aldi yet though? If you do I think the sale is usually around October.
My 2 cents worth !!! Riding a motorcycle offers joy of getting away from all the crap....ie phones etc etc Also find level of concentration is elevated so why would I want anything that distracts. As mentioned prior...my 2 cents worth. Obviously not a fan
I just like a bit of ridin' music in the background, better than listening to wind noise. Something like this:
@joker, thanks for the tip, Perth gets it's first Aldi's next week @Phil, I get you, and I can respect that. My problem is that I'm a talker, both professionally and when I'm not working (I can almost imagine all my friends sighing and nodding! LOL) and my wife doesn't ride. We often go on long trips and I want to ride while she drives and I don't want to pull up every ten minutes to babble my latest insight, I want her to share in my never-ending conversational gems ;-)
Well after reading your response, I stand corrected. Alas I am unable to provide any intel into Bluetooth headsets but @joker has posted Aldi as a supplier, there are many others I am sure. Wish you well in your search, may the conversation flow.....
i don't mind the cardo scala g9x, thats what i have. still not the cheapest, but sometimes on ebay and gumtree you can find them for a good price
Old thread i know, but i have been looking at these bluetooth headset's, reckon i might grab them and see how they go It was Aliexpress not ebay sorry, $104 for a pair https://www.aliexpress.com/item/201...32815998286.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.4myn5M
In the pictures it states "please note. you only can use Bluetooth to receive/reject call, can't hear music/GPS information". No use to me then!
I ended up buying a pair of these for $99, took 7 day's to arrive from Sydney https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2x-BT-Intercom-V6-1200M-6Riders-Motorcycle-Bluetooth-Helmet-Interphone-Headsets/222361511065?hash=item33c5c76499:g:vjwAAOSw3BJb6U-U:rk:19f:0 They've been pretty good for the last 12 month's Volume is good, they don't need to be on full volume, speaker's are low profile. Distance is good, i have used them up to about 1km away, in line of sight at 100km/h Support's up to 6 rider's, you do need to switch between rider's to talk though Battery life is pretty good, still had charge after 2 hour's riding/talking Can listen to music, receive and make call's, receive GPS navigation from your phone
