The Ride On DVD as a compulsory component of Q-Ride, and worth a watch:

    Hey Darren

Enjoyed watching the DVD, sadly not once during the entire show did I hear the words "common sense".
Seems that these words are completely forgotten or ignored, because much of the show is about just that, common sense?????
Having had my spat, recommend all to watch this DVD as it is of value. :thumb_ups:

Thanks Phil well said, and sadly common sense is what is lacking by so many road users - both riders and drivers.

this may seem sexist and racist but not meant that way... down here in nsw there are 2 lots of drivers i avoid... young girls on green p plates[2nd year of driving] and people in cars of asian descent. both lots i find drive erratically. i think there should be a psychology test before you get a licence to see if mentally fit. last weekend here a 22 year old traffic habitual offende was caught driving in a car with no plates or roadworthy. obviously went to court but have not heard outcome. their is always an idiot who will cream you and wrong place wrong time can catch you out.once many years ago a driver ran a stop sign and got me. still ache 45 years later.

I think everyone get's that. It used to be for me - the old guy in a bowls hat :) But especially when riding, I now pay closer attention to P platers, 4wd's and anyone with ear phones in. They are usually to engrossed on the music to worry about the traffic.

I said may years ago, people shouldn't be able to get a licence using an automatic. These drivers have no idea about driving in traffic... They just steer and aim. Brakes full on or full off.

Common sense is not very common.

You are so correct Murdo, I wonder at times if it's thought of.

Alas the statistics show that in excess of 70% of all new registration of new vehicles in this country alone are AUTO'S.

On the subject of P's drivers, my observation is this. I used to commute semi regularly from the Sunshine coast to Brisbane to catch up with Chris. Cruising down on my cbr1100, the majority of vehicles that passed me where driven by young women with P plates and generally talking on the phone, 90% would be a fair number.
