Hi guys. When looking for parts for my 1989 gsxr gj23 what web sites are good?. And are they commonly shared parts like engine gaskets. Filter for oil and air. Fork seals etc. Im planning on new air and oil filters. All new engine / radiator hoses fork seals etc first up. Are any parts easily sourced from australia or is japan the go. For the manuals i just pay the ten bucks to dl them hey? Im planning on getting the whole engine vapour blasted and so ill be chasing clutch cover. Rocker cover and sump gaskets too. Are the 250 / across and gj 23 engine basicalky the same unit?.

I always price check between Megazip and Impex for Factory new parts... generally Impex will come out cheaper, not by much but every little bit helps. Their freight seems a touch cheaper as well even though it is still with EMS. Megazip have the advantage of Japan, US and UAE warehouses so sometimes they have an advantage.. not often though.
cheers guys, much appreciated. on the airbox / filter front has anyone ditched the stock airbox and ran either k&N or foam pod filters?
No, and trying to do so with CV carbs will be incredibly difficult. If you fit FCR carbs then it will be relatively easy but you will need to take out a second mortgage to pay for the carbs. https://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/carb-setting-for-pod-filters.10489/ https://litetek.co/docs/InSearchOfFreeLunch.pdf http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Airboxes.html http://www.planetsoarer.com/resonator/ResonatorsAcoustic.htm
If you wish to loose power, go slower and give yourself lots of headaches, then by all means go ahead. As Maelstrom wrote, go to slide carbs and pods and you may find 2 more HP at top revs but it will cost more than the bike is worth to get it.
I have a frame, tank, side covers and a heap of other spare parts for an 1991 Across 250, I am based on the Gold Coast. Any interest?
Seeing as the 250 bandit essentially uses the same spec motor as the GSXR 250 I figure I can just order things like gaskets etc from the local suzuki dealer for when i strip down the motor for the vapour blasting thats sooon to come. Would the suspension essentially be the same as the 1989 RGV 250 does anyone know?
