Looks like they have just launched the new Kawasaki Ninja 300, looks the part, may have to venture down and take one for a spin: http://www.kawasaki.com.au/ninja300/ I wonder if the other makers will follow suit and move to 300's as opposed to our beloved 250s?
I'm perplexed by this one, you would have to think that Kawasaki are responding to Honda stealing their market share with the cibby 250. It's an odd size though , I would have thought a 400cc would have been better .
Have to agree with you there, seems to have a bit more go than their ancient 250, 30kw at 172kg puts it a bit closer to the older cbrs and zxrs, probably a bit of a market there.
the Ninja 250r has 33 hp, the new Ninja 300 has 40hp, still a bit down on the older FZR's, CBR's, ZXR;s et al, the 140 rear tyre is a plus though.... Its a weird engine size... manufacturers generally still to 125, 175, 150, 400, 500, 600, 800 , 1000 and so on... so a 300cc is going against the norm... but maybe thats what they need to compete with the new Cibby as it knocked Kawasaki off the 250cc perch. Any idea on pricing ? Chris
Nice looking bike, albeit an odd size. But with Lams having moved the goal post, this could be a whole beginning. It will be interesting to see if this assists Kawasaki (NINJA) in regaining the lead it once held in this sector. Ninja 300, will have to adjust to that new size.
FINALLY! Does that mean there will be a fuel injected small cap ninja available in Australia? Wonder what it's going to cost...
http://www.carsguide.com.au/news-and-reviews/car-news/kawasaki_ninja_300_set_to_launch Approximately $6k The Guys at Rapid magazine just got one to play with.. http://www.facebook.com/#!/RapidBikes
wow that's not bad, down from the ninja (at least when I was looking t one for my first bike they were 7 :S Nice power, gorgeouys styling- I LOVE what they've done to the indicators, and a decent price by the sounds of things... ABS on a smaller bike I''m out to town on... yeah it'll save some learners a drop or two, but will they develop bad habbits? Or will all bikes feature it in the future? *shrug* It doesn't bother me NOT having it, and I wouldn't pay extra FOR it at this stage I guess. The slipper clutch is more of the same idea - nice tech, is it needed on such a small bike though? My biggest question though, is with the recent expansion in the small-bike market (especially the 125-150cc range with the CB, CBR, Sachs bikes, ect), is will we see other 300's from other manufacturers?
$6200 plus on road costs, so will be similar to current 250. A 400 should would put them all in a market all to themselves.
