    Already contacted a couple sellers and have asked for them to show the state of the rotor/inside of the pump. Odds are they come out of blown up engines and pumps are in the same condition as mine. Thanks for the replies.

    Should be able to get a 2nd hand one that is better than yours. Just take a bit of digging. Check the Japanese auction sites too as NOS parts pop up.

    This is only one that I have out of a engine

    It is in better nick that yours it still has a few marks

    Just got one from a guy in NZ that's only got 2-3 small nicks. $40. Thanks for the help everyone. Bike should be running soon :)

    Hahaha. Got the engine reassembled and found these two buggers! Always a bolt or two left .

    They clearly go inside the engine somewhere because of how clean they are.

    Reopened it now and can't seem to find their place. All the bolts for the oil pump, pipe and siphon are there. Clutch has all its bits. I didn't touch the gear selector. Clutch bearing retainer is there.
    Cylinder head seems to have all it's bits too. Nothing obvious.

    Edit: clutch push plate also has its bits.

    They're not from your old oil pump are they ?

    Hey. Is there a way in which i can tell which carburetors i have? I have a CBR250RR(L) model i think.

    Got the bike running today and have sync'd the carbs, but the bike hangs for a bit when i give it a rev. The idle is set to about 1700RPM right now, it stalls below that.

    Should i just try messing around with the pilot screw settings? Start at 1 1/2 turns and go up 1/4 of a turn and see the response? Right now they're at 1 3/4.

    Earlier l and n models use vp20a and the r models use vp20b carbs , it is stamped of the body of the carb on the front just above the lip where the bowl attaches

    Hello!

    Update:
    Bike is running on 3 cylinders, hence the apparent carburetor issues. Initially cylinder 4 wasn't firing - i used my spit to check the temp of the headers :). I swapped the ignition leads around (1&4) and the connections going into the coils from the harness and cylinder 1 stopped firing. However, when i swapped them back cylinder 4 kept firing and 1 didn't! I will swap the coils around tomorrow and see what's what. I have new spark plugs in. Spark on all the plugs so i think the spark timing may be out? I'm not sure what could cause this weird behavior. I hope it's an issue with the coil and not with the pickup...

    Any comments are appreciated.

    Single pickup for all 4 cylinders on a mc22 , more than likely you have a coil cap that isn’t making a good connection, you can unscrew the cap and trip a few mm off the lead then re thread the cap .

    You won’t know your self when it is running on all 4

    When you say No:1 is not firing (but plug has spark across the gap), is the plug wet with fuel when you remove it?
    Did you actually remove the plug and test you had spark across the gap (with body of plug touching the frame or other metal part). Spark at the lead does not rule out a fouled plug. I have seen brand new plugs foul up in no time flat when the mixture is all wrong. You get limited success trying to clean the plugs. Just get a new set.

    Hi, thanks for the replies. Initially cylinder 4 wasn't firing so i put fuel in carbs and ran bike till it stalled and checked bowls, all were empty so carbs are running fine. I swapped the leads around where they connect onto the coil(1 is in place of 4, 4 in the place of 1), and the coil signals coming from the harness. Then cylinder 1 stopped firing and cylinder 4 started. I swapped the 2/3 coil with 1/4 and now cylinder 2 doesn't fire so I've ordered a new coil. And yeah i checked spark on all 4 cylinders with new plugs and they're all fine. I was trying with old plugs initially but went and bought new ones and it didn't make any difference. The bike was running on all 4 cylinders when i got it, so i wonder how a coil would've gone bad just sitting around? I used some contact electrical cleaner on the connections so i doubt it would be that.

    Thanks a lot everyone, will let you know when i install the new coils tomorrow.

    You must not swap the leads from the harness. The coils fire both plugs at the same time.

    Haha oops!

    Just started the bike up again... Cylinder 4 is not firing again. I take the plug lead off and nothing changes.
    There is clear spark coming through. The plug is wet. My compression tester doesn't fit the plug holes but i can stick my finger in and there's definitely compression. Enough to blow it off.what else could it be????

    Checked valve clearances and timing is all good. Compression spark + fuel at the right time = boom, right?

    I dunno.

    Hahaha yeah, it's on par with the other cylinders. I can't seem to find a compression tester that would fit this size spark plug? All the threads are too big.

    Where is the spark? Is it at the lead or at the spark plug?
    If there is too much fuel it will drown the spark and it won’t go.
