Today I bought a CFMoto Leader 150 as a cheap town run about. I had been using my 1974 Yamaha YB100 and 1972 Honda SL125, but their age was showing in brakes and suspension so have sold a couple of other bikes and bought myself this.

144.4cc of water cooled, carby fed OHC four stroke. Did 39Km on it this afternoon after picking it up from the local dealers. It is still a bit tight, but if it frees up like the V5 and Quad did then it will be a neat little bike. Quite comfy to ride with good positioning for me. Super light handling, just have to think about going into a corner. Put 5psi more in tyres than stated in the book to improve the turn in, and will look at maybe some sticky Pirelli's and better rear shocks later. Has a 16.5 Lt tank so will not need to fill up very often. Weighs 116Kg and cost $2,100. So far very happy with the purchase.
Have started modifying it by putting a mount to hold my tank bag.

Yep, two years but only 99,999Km (you would think they would have rounded it up to 100,000Km). :thumb_ups:

Got it a bit cheaper because it is last years model (plated 4/14) that CFMoto have in stock in their Melbourne wharehouse, but that doesn't worry me for what I want to do with it. The new model is FI and $3200 and the demo one that I rode didn't feel any better than what I bought. On the spec sheet the carb model has 1/2 a Kw more power, but the difference may be with the muffling to meet the Euro 111 regulations on the new one.
It is very quiet and I can hardy hear it running. I have stopped at intersections and looked at the tacho to see if it is still going. I think the muffler is going to have a meeting with a holesaw. :thumb_ups:

These bikes (CFMoto) all come with the French ELF oil in them and the dealer is going to be stocking the ELF brand. I use to use it back in the 1980's and thought it was pretty good, about on par with Bel-Ray of the time but cheaper. They had a water wash out air filter oil which was magic to use on the Maico, but have not seen it since.

How's the wee beastie going? Still happy with it? I have the V Night 150 as my commuter for a month now, bought it near new for 2K and so far am happy save for a balky idle when cold. But I live in a colder part of the country (blue mountains)

Hi BD, have traded the 150 in when I bought a Royal Enfield 500. I do miss it and sometimes think about buying another, but too many in shed now. Had nearly 3000Km on it without a problem.
A helpful hint for you is to put more coolant concerntrate into the water mix to help the waterpump seal as the factory stuff is a bit weak and has caused some problems with leaking seals.
