Im hoping someone has an answer to this

Im looking at a megello 250r 2010 motorcycle and they said it has a slight fuel leak and the whole engine bogs out for 10 minutes after riding and then starts back up in 5 minutes. Anyone know what the problem is and would it be an easy fix?

    Welcome to the forum?

Where is the fuel leaking from ?
Fuel tap's aren't the best on them, i'm pretty sure they had a fix for them by fitting a non vacuum operated tap?

    Is it injected or carby?
If carby then i would check the needle and seat/s in each fuel bowl,
They could have some dirt etc in them stopping them from shutting off or
if the rubber tip's of the needle's are hard then it wouldn't be sealing and shutting off the fuel to the carby when needed.

This is a generic picture of a needle and seat
The needle is the bottom part and it has a soft rubber tip that stop's fuel entering the carby when it's reached the correct level.
There is also an o'ring that goes on the seat that can go hard and leak
You will need to remove the carby fuel bowl/s to get to the float, there will be a pin that hold's the float to the tower, slide that out and the float can be removed, then you can take the needle out the seat and look at that, the seat's are sometime's retained in the carby base by a screw

the original fuel tap was vacuum operated. the importer had so many problems with this they put a manual fuel tap on and blocked the vacuum line off.put a cheap ebay tap on and a ball bearing of a size to block the vacuum line. the importer did it to new bikes as well as old to fix the fuel flow problem.

@risky you really do need to at least try to use Capitols as well as punctuation..... it makes it easier to read for a start....

the grammar is correct with punctuation. with the new format of grammar you do not use paragraphs or capital letters in electronic transmissions. hope that clarifies.

the other problem could be valve clearances. from the factory the setting was supposed to be 2 thou but often measured 1 thou or less. when the motor got hot they would not start till cooled down.set the tappets at 4-6 thou inlet and 6-10 thou exhaust.try to buy a non chinese bike and reliability will be higher[in my opinion.].
