    Hi all,

Ride a CBR500 daily, but a week ago I picked up a '98 Suzuki Across, love the 90s styling and can't wait to hear it screaming at 16,000rpm! That said, it's not been run for a few years, and I've not taken on a bike project before, so I've got plenty to learn ahead of me. Currently in the process of stripping her down check the state of the carbys and replace the spark plugs, prior to me collecting her she'd been sat for 4-5 years without running, so I'm expecting some gunk. All up she's done less than 11,000km and is in great condition.

Tonight's job is trying to get the spark plugs out... the leads seem very tight. Just yank 'em?!

Welcome mate , pull the spark plug caps, not the leads otherwise you will pull the leads out of the caps

Grab your self a can of threebond for soaking your jets and emulsion tubes .

Also check the slide holders , they are a small White plastic piece that join the slides to the diaphragm , they get old and break and the slide will no longer move which is a common failure on these bikes

    Welcome.
Turn/twist the plug caps to break to seal before trying to pull them off.
