Help Does the 1990 Yamaha FZR 250 3LN3 have a fuel petcock ?

    I can't find a fuel petcock anywhere on my 1990 Yamaha FZR 250 3LN3. Is this year model 3LN3 supposed to have one ?

    Could that red mounting bracket in your pictures be the same as the empty bracket to the right of the fairing bolt in my my first picture ?

    I want to say that one of the previous owners deleted it because the bike runs fine without the fuel petcock and it was missing when I bought the bike last month

    The petcock gives u a 'reserve' option .... thats why theres 2 different filters inside the tank with 2 outlets .... and obviously the fuel flow can be turned off

    When I remove my tank I take off the petcock as well so the fuel is still closed off ... and when u own an FZR u take off the tank many ,many, many times to get at the carbys :aggressive:

    To say nothing of trashing your engine when one of your float needles leaks, bike suffers hydraulic lock and a bends a conrod.

    I had an FZX 250 Zeal as my first bike, so I know what I'm looking for. But could it be possible to delete the fuel petcock ?

    Yeah it's possible to do, someone did it to your 3LN3
    I've had my tank off way too many time's as well

    Have u looked under the tank? ... there may be one like this as these are much easier to buy new

    The fuel tap grey pictured will be right up under the tank, follow the fuel line from the fuel filter up to the tank and see what is there


    The tank normally has a pick up like the one in the bottom/middle of my picture, it has 2 cylinder plastic filter's in the middle 2x holes.
    3LN1 fuel tap on the right top, and 3LN3 on the top left

    I reckon it may be up under the tank like the petcock @GreyImport posted
    as the ad for it mentions it has new fuel lines and petcock.

    Silly question but does anyone know how the hoses should be connected to the petcock from fuel tank. Noob question i know but i i just got myself a Yammy:crazypilot:

    What model fuel tap?
    Post #4 above show's how they should be connected


    The chrome front tap i posted above the main line is the top one, the reserve is the 2nd one down and outlet is the bottom.
    It has it in the casting on the back

    I must measure the O rings etc on my petcock for the SRX and see if the seals from the FZR will fit... it really needs to have some green in it...

    I found the fuel petcock on my bike. It's been put directly under the fuel tank, where i can't get to it. It looks to be attached to the bottom of the tank
