Funny little carbs, but simple to work on. Two baths in the ultrasonic cleaner and looking much better.
Slides move freely now and bowls not full of gunge ! 20200627_134750.jpg 20200627_140657.jpg 20200627_140702.jpg

Thanks for the handy photos Rob Booth.

Sorry for what might be a newby question, but can anyone tell me what the brown textured pipe is all about please?

It looks like it screws into the throttle mechanism, but why is this accessible from the side of the bike?

I've removed mine when cleaning the carbs as per above. So it would be helpful to know what I should consider when putting it back together!

    :idk:

Ah, makes sense... so the amount it's screwed in or out of the throttle mechanism becomes the baseline for how much the throttle is kept open, i.e. how fast it idles.

I didn't realise this would be accessible from the side of the bike, but now I know better.

    Nice one, thanks! ;)

Thats it .... determines the minimal amount the butterflys are kept open for the engine to idle
