Hi Folks The Balius is running like a good un and making 18500 rpm easily........Big Grin! The pipe is a nice piece of stainless steel work that is just asking for a little more noise.....just a bit...coupled with some end can shrinking as it is quite a lump. I am loathed to chop off the can and put a slip on the Balius like I did with my ZX2 as things almost went a little too extreme noise wise with that project.... I noticed a pipe for sale on ebay and the previous owner has ground slits into the link pipe presumably for some fine tuning of the noise ? A bit of a drastic measure perhaps.... Has anyone messed with their standard Balius pipe in a way that can be easily reversed ?? the other thing I am mindful of is that with my ZX2 the top end stayed good but at the expense of what little torque the wee beasty had... Drill out the rivets in the end of the can..pull out the baffle,clean and re wrap it with a lighter mating, or leave it out all together
Thanks Wozza. That sounds easy and reversible. The silencer has some damage underneath so removing baffle may allow an easier repair weld. I can also test out how I would like the pipe to sound with limited or no silencing.... Now where did I put my drill bits..............
