I’m investigating poor cold starting on my 3LN1. There’s a small diameter tube that runs up the side of the carb, from the starting jet in the float chamber to the enrichment valve, which when opened by the “choke” allows vacuum in the manifold to draw fuel up the tube and directly into the inlet.
This must be a very narrow bore tube, and it would be easy for this to get clogged, like my jets were,
causing poor starting. Question is how to clean it out?

One of my pipes had popped out and I just aradited it back in

Its been many years since I originally did them but I think from memory , when the carbs are dismantled , u can blow thru those pipes to see if they are clear ... compressed air would obviously be better.
As with all small orifices in a carb .... ultrasonic cleaning would be my choice

Recheck when done for being airtight..carb cleaner into tube and block off one end..watch for bubbles appearing at either joint when firing compressed air in :) jobs a good one

Just performed that repair on a set of '91 GSXR1100 carbs at work. Hold it in place and hit it with a gob of mixed up 2 part metal epoxy, let set for 4 hours.
