The tacho on my 2kr seems to have some sort of intermittent problem - sometimes its a bit jumpy at low rpm's & I think its not showing the correct rpm's ie. doing 100kph in top gear its at 13000 rpm. Is that correct & if not any ideas of where the problem might be?

100km/h in top gear it should be doing around 9000rpm, that's with 16/55 gearing
@ 13,000rpm it would be doing a touch over 145km/h

Something i'd check is the connection's from the pick up coil to the main loom, and also check there is minimal clearance from the tab of the flywheel to the pick up coil.
Also check for dirty terminal's in the plug/socket at the back of the dash and where the dash wiring joins the main loom

Just checked the rear sprocket & it's 55T so I will do some checking of pick up, terminals etc.
    Cheers my67wr
