Since I sold my NSR, I have been really missing having a 2 stroke in the Garage, I have always lusted after a Aprilia RS250 or an MC21\28 NSR250. I saw a 1999 RS250 come up on Gumtree and on Sunday I went out to Ipswich for a test ride, the bike is excellent condition so I tried to negotiate a deal and we couldnt agree on the number. I finally relented this morning and bought it, just waiting on a RWC then i can pick it up. The Aprilia owner has a few bikes including 2 Honda MVX250's ( 3 cylinder 2 strokes) and a Yamaha RD350. Pumped... cant wait to pick it up.
Well done Chris :-\ Think you have bought a nice bike. Felt very solid when I sat on it, watch out twisties, here comes Chris!!
you bet, just received a call from the owner, he has a road worthy cert, just need to tee up some insurance and head over and pick it up
Picked it up this morning... I am soooo going to loose my licence on this bike. 8) So how does it ride ? AWESOME !!! One of things that appealed to me about this Aprilia is that its stock as a rock, no mods, its sounds tight and runs well. In comparison to the NSR250, it feels slightly less angry but power seems to be smoother. I only did a 40km ride from where I picked it up to wokr so I didnt get to really play too much. Might find some hills on the weekend so see how she goes.
OMG, awesome, cool and the rest. Superlatives probably won't do it justice! Of course I'm referring to Chris's new toy, The Aprilia RS250...... :occasion14: Last night I had the pleasure of taking this Italian Stallion for a spin. Although not properly attired for the occasion, I just couldn't get over how sweet it was to ride and as for the power delivery=AWESOME!!!! Having never ridden a race bike, my guess is this must be fairly close. Would I ride one daily, probably not. The comfort side ain't there but then again that's not why you own one. You own one for the sheer exhilaration that is derived, the power delivery that goes close to taking your breath away. This bike is amazing. Well done Chris, you have bought well. ENJOY!!!!!!
