Hi Guys What's the go with leaving your bike with fuel in it for a couple of weeks maybe a month? I try to start her up every week or second week but is a month too much? Cheers
I let my FZR sit for like over 6 months last year and it started first go ... battery wasnt even flat After a year or 2 , I think I would be changing it out
If you're going to leave it sitting make sure the tank is full and not with E10. Other than that a month isn't a big deal.
I recommend a quality, 98 RON, fuel because it is less likely to have things like toluene in it. However, they also "clean" your fuel system, which means it might dissolve varnish and then that settles in the carbs as the fuel evaporates. So your climate has an effect on evaporation: hot and dry, left outside, it might dry out your carbies quickly and that's when it leaves deposits. My 2 cents, based on cleaning filthy carbs on bikes with stinky, stale fuel.
Cheers guys Always run 98 on her and leave her with a full/full-ish tank. At the moment in kiwi land its cold and wet. She does get the attention she needs now and then Cheers again
