    Was never aware that you can microwave the bearings like that . Id like to try it one day , has anyone tried it on the forum ?. Have been freezing the outer rings (cup) for steering head bearings and swing arm bearings for ages , so that's cool. But i still cant get my head around the microwave trick :idk:.

    yeah the trick was the wet cloth which absorbs the microwaves and heats the bearing - don't do it without the cloth

    I haven't yet tried it, to date my most exotic ingredients microwaved are CD/DVD's and a bunch of eggs in an about to go out the door model...

    But there was that time we put propane & oxygen mix into a coke bottle and add the foil wrapper from chicken stock - hit cook and RUN!!!

    Hi ruckusman. I'd really like to try the bearing trick , if i had an old microwave i'd try it but since the microwave is just bought new , i'm not game enough to try it. !.Iv'e only just started scrambling my eggs in the microwave ,yea i know i'm a bit slow .OH your a bad man there buddy , i'd never ever do that myself ;).

    I've always used an old oven for that purpose. Never heard of the microwave though.

    Also have used an oven to do jobs with , last one was a montesa Cota 247 T O.E muffler assembly. Baked on the gloss black VHT paint , the finished job looked really good.

    That's cheating !. The guide lines are that you must use a domestic oven that has window that you can see the part's baking inside. Sorry buddy , but how can you see a cake rise with that oven :D ?.

    That's fair enough and a honest reason :thumb_ups:. Iv'e repaired so many stoves it's not funny back in the days. Actually i could use an old stove when operation SRX 250 kicks in.

    I've seen LARGE (11" dia. shaft) bearings heated in a propane barb-q. The company built huge fans and blowers for mines, agriculture, and steel mills. With the huge sums of money they charged, you'd think they would get a little more civilized and buy an induction heater.
