    Does the Zeal have 39mm forks? If so I could be interested... looking at a couple of different options but not in a real hurry.. yet :)

    Regarding the cost to get the forks re-done.Does the price vary on how big the fork tubes are, as the SRX 250 has tooth picks size versus more modern tree trunk size fork legs.

    The SRX250 are 33mm standard.. 38mm on the FZR and Zeal it would appear (so google says).

    From the inquiry to Rad Hard Chroming I made years ago I would say size is irrelevant as they didn't ask the dimensions

    Hi Andy.Thanks for the info , was curious regarding price wise.When i'm ready i'll give them a call.Seems like Rad Hard Chroming place is where everyone goes to.I'll have to get some new fork springs also , so will ask about that when i ring.

    Hi ruckusman. Thanks for that info.Thought that they may charge via the diameter of the tubes as in time frame to complete the job. This info is so cool , at'least when i'm ready i'll know where to send all of the parts away to !.Looks like the little SRX will breath fresh air again. Been looking for my maiden voyage T shirt but i cant find one like my avatar as in colour wise.

    RAD have done four sets for me and they all were around the $400 mark (straighten and rechrome) and took around 3 to 4 weeks turnaround. All are perfect and not a leak with the new seals.
    For springs I would have a look in the Ikon website. Have used a few of them with good results.

    Rad have a very good reputation.
    Agree with @Murdo re Ikon springs, bought a set off them for my SV650, could not fault the price and delivery...happy customer.

    there is also a plce in sydney and can be done where hydraulic rams are refurbished. years ago goninans did it in newcastle but now with ownership changes long gone.

    Thankfully it looks like I won't need to go that route thanks to Woolfe :)
    I have dabbled this morning cleaning up the lower section of the triple tree... and then painting it as well as flattening off the primer on the tank and hitting it again with spray putty... more sanding required.

    re organizing the shed. bought a used stationary cabinet and putting historic bike parts in. extra parts on the water so need the space.

    I bought a 4WD so I spent some of today washing it. I used a degreaser air tool for the first time with CT-18. Works well but it does seem to use a lot of what you're spraying. I cleaned the tray and engine bay and called it a day.

    I've sold nearly $600 worth of parts on eBay so I'm looking at getting a new tank for the NSR250 soon. Looking to order some parts for the CRF50 and CBR600RR too. So soon I hope to have 100% working and fully functional motorcycles! Hasn't been this way for years... well ever since I had the NSR(s)!

    I use a capful or a splash of CT18 in a bucket and wash manually with a sponge, seems to last longer. Wring out the sponge and wipe over, leaves a nice shiny finish. The sponge I use has microfibre on either side, that may have something to do with it.

    Been on the carbs the last few days tried everything:idk: they just havnt been the same since i went back to standard jetting 122&125s 6 months ago, runs rich but idols lean no matter what I try. they were re-jetted years ago by a very knowledgable guy that raced and won Aust open B grade races in his 50s. So anyway a full reset to how i remember it being before months of tinkering was in order, first off i synchronized the carbs, set to 6 pounds pressure, set the float heights from 13mm to 14mm, pilot screws 2 turns out(new o rings) and replaced the 122&125 main jets with 110s across the board and kept the 35 pilot jets 20161017_134201.jpg 125s(right) 110s(left) can anyone confirm that CBRs use 110s?. 20161105_152758.jpg new vacuum hoses & Lite Tek airbox seals. So how did it go,AWESOME, that lumpy almost outboard motor like idle is back and what I really noticed Is when you give it a rev the needle isnt as quick to jump off the dial, so how did it go on the road, AWESOME, no hesitation when the throttle was opened just smooth power, new cam chain too,& with a 15t front sprocket it aligns the speedo & taco in 4th gear 50klm=5000rpm 80klms= 8000rpm. Merging onto the highway at 170klms@17000 rpm into 5th 180/90klms@16000 i really knew id nailed it, didnt even try for 6th gear & top speed i was getting visions of my bike sitting in an impoundment, thats for another day:thumb_ups:
