Hi all - As FZR250 is winding down and being absorbed into this forum I have moved across to keep an eye on things. Thanks go to Chris for taking on the the job of doing all the imports from FZR250.

I have been a part of FZR250 for 10 years and started my riding career just prior, on an FZR250 obviously. I am a late starter only getting a bike licence when my youngest son started work at age 16 and bought a GPX250 to get to work. Took it for a ride around the block and the rest is history.

Did have a learners at age 18 but never had a bike. Did ride some of my mates bikes occasionally during that time. One bike I rode was a Yamaha RD350 twin two stroke. They were fairly quick. Back then the learners licence was only good for 3 months if you already had a drivers licence. I am nearly 60 now.

Had the FZR for 18 months and did a bit of maintenance on it during that time. However I sold it and bought a new 2006 Suzuki SV650S. A couple of years ago I sold that, and bought my eldest son's 2005 SV1000 naked as it is a bit more upright (and suits older people). I don't have to do as much gear changing on this as it pulls like a steam train from 3000 rpm up to the red line at 11,000.
It breaks the max speed limit in any gear at full revs so it gets an easy life really.

    Anyway, I be lurking around.

Welcome to the forum or should I say........moving across!! Good to have you on board and like your selection of bikes, had an SV650 myself and enjoyed riding the twin. Currently riding since last Friday a 1998 zzr600 which is one of the most stable platforms I have ever ridden, the ride from Brisbane back to the Sunshine coast was a pleasure yesterday, had a smile on my dial all the way.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Good to be here and see all the posts go to a good site.
I like the English Marmite jar. Very rare in Australia and it looks and tastes significantly different to the Marmite we get from NZ. It was a disaster when the Christchurch factory was wiped out in their major earththquake.

I have not been riding for a couple of months other than short trips. The weather is ordinary at this time of year.
Long trip from Burnie. Be in Hobart for toy run though.

    Hi Dave,
You helped me to start doing carb kits for the 250's. I think I have most of them covered now, even the extremely rare 3LN6 & 7.
A lot of the members here have also helped me out to get the parts done.
    cheers
    Blair

I guess that's what it all about - I could see that parts for the FZR were as hard to get and you were offering carb parts at good prices and really providing a good service for the members.

Good to see that you are very active here.
