Thanks. New Hagon shock is in. Mivv exhaust ordered from Italy but need to mod the original downpipes to fit.
Couldn't get engine to run properly, removed carbs, checked for air leaks on all hoses then found one plug not sparking! 4 cr9e' s later and we're going ..
Great progress. Wish I could strip mine down. Got a link for that shock? Wouldnt mind checking them out. A brick would be more effective than the shock I have now...
Fuel tap was caked in sediment and rust. Zzr250 bits fit so dipped in an electrolytic bath to clean passageways then new seal kit.
Sorry, had a few other projects on the go so not so much progress. I've done a little on the exhaust - I cut the downpipe under the engine and ground back the seam. Then had a local place make a mid pipe. Lovely bit of welding to the endcan end a slip-on joint to the (yet unblasted) manifold. I intend to cut the pillion peg mount from the hanger, tidy it up/ polish and re-use. This'll save me making a new one and probably sturdier.
Brakes have been stripped, cleaned and new seals. Colour changed as I wasn't keen on the gold. Goodridge lines and ZXR400 m/c.
Been a bit distracted after buying a 1961 BSA Sunbeam scooter at Xmas to take the kids out on. Now that's running then the ZXR is back on the ramp. I bought a Honda hornet bellypan that I need to make fit and also found a almost mint hugger. Back to it !
Only the 'before'- I'll get some more this weekend. It's quite a rare thing but I just like the look of it. A bit 'Flash Gordon' (and still 250cc so fits with this site..almost!)
Looks 'cool'. Love the carpet on the floor boards. It's a bit like a Vespa, fancy BSA copying an Italian bike.
Wow, if I was going to have a scooter, that one would be on the shopping list. What a lovely little bike. Do we use the word "cute" on this site?
