Hi, just want to leave a post and say hello to everyone. I've been busy with building up a very fresh zxr 250C , Ive had both an A1 and A2 in the past and think they are simply awesome bikes to own (but we already know this) I got hold of a fresh import machine about 6 years ago and completely stripped it down to the last bolt , packed it away in boxes and "forgot" about it until a couple of weeks ago. I've now nearly completely restored/rebuilt it, it's running and almost ready for road test. It's looking to be by far one of the finest examples of the model I've seen. I've still got to fabricate a nice new exhaust system but for now its just got the factory pipe installed Here's a few pics

looks good mate, are you going to keep it naked or put fairings on. also where did you get the gold sprocket, looks awesome.
Thanks. It will get its faring kit back on when I'm happy with how it's running. It's idle I is up around 4000 rpm so I need to pull the carbs of again and check what might be causing that. My guess it's a vacuum problem... The sprocket came from Japan, it also came with an aftermarket de-restrictor that plugs into the loom.
i would be sus about the derestricter, i think the only way to get it derestricted was to use the zxr250rr cdi.
Its a genuine Japanese unit... I actually thaught only the 93+ bikes were restricted? ... I'll give it a go and see if there is any noticeable difference.
yeah the c model is restricted but im pretty sure its not to do solely with the cdi and i think swapping them between the a and c model causes the bike to run crap.
The c model runs different cams and bore and stroke so has completely different timing, but this unit might remove the speed limiter or something along those lines.
I was told it was zxr 400r but the lower linkage was different. I did have to make a new lower linkage using the standard one as a donor and weld it on. It's made an insane difference in how the bike can be set up now and feels "locked" in .
