Attempted to do the seal kit and failed....... Miserably.... Got to the point where the carbs almost ended up embedded in the wall. Searched for 2 hours for a rebuild guide with the lite tek seal kit and found zilch. So have up..... Honestly ready to sell the bike.
when i did it i used the website http://www.litetek.co/Carb_Kit_Kawasaki_ZXR250.html a printout of this and corresponded the part numbers
thank you very much mate, I looked every where beside the bloody lite tek site.... key here is kiddies to calm down and not to get worked up so you over look the simple answers.. occams razor..
Hi all. So update time again. This is where I'm at now. Lite tek seal kit put in (cheers huntsman for the help). Carbs back on the bike. Now. Just to mess with you. #3and #4 headers are cool. 1 and 2 are red hot now. But spray 3 and 4 with water and the water sits on the headers. I sprayed inox around the carb boots and it kinda picked up in revs. So in gonna buy some gasket goo and the carb boots off the track bike(they didn't have seals in them). Any ideas would be awesome help
Hi Tim, You can always ask on the forum here or by sending us a message. At the bottom of the page where you bought your kit is a pdf file that you can download. It has our part numbers shown on a parts diagram. cheers Blair
It was actually easy once it was pointed out to me. Face palm moment. Now I'm just having issues with the carb boots sealing.
Things that need to be done: New Tyre front and rear Fork seals Front indicators Rear mud guard Indicator ticker box Windscreen Tank liner Tank prepped and painted Exhaust washer Exhaust headers Rear seat cowl Right Mirror Ram Air ducts(the rubber parts that fit in the fairing) Chain Sprockets that's all i can think of for the moment
So today I gave my self a kick in the arse, got off the couch and sorted this issue out. Took the 2 problem carbs off and stripped them. With my lack of long stem sockets I had to improvise. Pulled the slow jet? The one next to the main jet out. The one down in the carb. So I tried to look through them and couldn't see anything. So I soaked them in 3bond then sprayed nulon carb cleaner to evaporate the 3 bond. Repeated the process a couple if times because I don't own a compressor. Then boom. Let their be light!!!! This is the jet I meant. But wait thrill seekers there is MORE!!!! @Th3_Huntsman mate you asked for it. So here it is. So my enthusiasm has been bounce valve bounce at the success I have had. So tomorrow is time to test ride. 2 things tho. The mirror is the rattling sound. And the exhaust leak is still there for now.
Sounds pretty close to spot on! That is a win and a half and should bring back some enthusiasm for the project
I did repair the other set. So I will try them. But if I didn't get all the holes I will be calling you lol. Absolutely mate it have me the something I was looking for to keep me going. Best part is NO cam chain slop. cheers phil. Definitely feel good. Hahaha
