New member from Canada. Just sayin hi. Riding a 87 TZR250 2ma and a yammagamma (86 rg250 with a yamaha ypvs engine).
Welcome to the forum, great photo. What we need now is details of the transplant?????? Was there any rejection on behalf of the donor???? Was the recipient happy with the outcome??? How difficult was the process overall. Look forward to hearing back from you.
Welcome. This is my 1986 TZR 1KT chassis number 000146 with matching engine number. It was one of the first TZR's brought into Australia. It looks better in the pic than in real life. Will restore it one day.
Hi intrudin, yes in Ontario, Ottawa actually. On the rz forum as well. Are you putting many miles on rg250?
Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Seems like a good crowd here. Frankster, except for the silencer. that 1kt does look pretty good. My 2ma also looks better in the picturs than it is. Has a bit of rash from the track. Have managed to replace /upgrade most of the parts... but planning on a facelift for it.
The yammagamma conversion. As far as rz350 conversions this one probably the best bang for the buck. Cheap and easy once you have all the parts. What was needed was a couple of aluminium spacers for the front engine mount and a couple of brackets for the rear engine mount. Lines everything up easy peasy. I can try to find the documention for the brackets if you like... NK racing in the UK also make them. Got the rz complete engine/carbs/electrics/clocks/ exhaust from a good friend and swapped it all out. You can use the clocks & electrics from the rg gamma (some modifying), but I was given the rz stuff so I just used that. You can also use the rg250 mk3 exhaust with good results, but I got a set of old style Toomeys for cheap and used the rear foot peg brackets to mount the exhaust. Definitely still a work in progress, but it's summer here and I enjoy riding the bike too much to work on it. The bike is light and fast, with the 18 and 16 inch wheel combination, it turns when you think about it. Maybe a bit too quick to turn as I find I have to keep correcting my self in long sweepers when chasing bigger 4 strokes.
Looks great mate mines almost done had some probs with the front brakes ,got that sorted now the carbs are leaking (needle and set suspect) removed the carbs today what a clusterfcuk , hopefully soted out soon I have a rz motor waiting for a transplant will be seeking your advice jim
