Yeah, that's an interesting oil too it seems. The Delo is a multigrade oil, and its been tested extensively with the bikes with good results
My advice to everyone is to have a good read up on this ...... theres a ton of discussion if u google it and it seems most is positive but its like anything "experimental" .... u need to decide for yourself if u choose to go down this path ..... especially when we are talking about the major component on your bike. Heres a sample ..... http://www.perthstreetbikes.com/forum/f16/any-one-running-diesel-oil-their-bike-132321/
to point out - you want mixed fleet diesel oil which has the appropriate petrol spec. consider say a farmer with all manner of vehicles, diesel, petrol, perhaps even LPG - mixed fleet oil will cater to all of them, and do it well. and just to eliminate the confusion - people seem to be mixing up the terms multigrade with mixed fleet. Multigrade oil has two viscosities listed which are for cold and hot - lower viscosity for cold starts, and higher viscosity for working temperature range to maintain adequate protection...eg. 10W40 10 weight fork oil is an example of a single weight oil. Mixed fleet means the oil has the appropriate additive package(s) to be used in engines of various fuel types, diesel, petrol, gas etc
We do it's just not called rotella t over here - I wish I could remember what it's called here to tell you for certain, but rather than get it wrong I'll say it's in the oil controversy I posted a link to earlier in this thread. Rimula x comes to mind, but don't quote me on that...
Just reading this ....its an old discussion..... but yes Glenn , Rimula sounds correct but its not identical it seems http://www.tlzone.net/forums/aussie-forum/114000-diesel-oil-bikes-auzzie-thread.html
I like it when my memory works .... this discussion also http://netrider.net.au/threads/where-to-get-shell-rotella-or-equivalent.81265/
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/on...20-Litre.aspx?pid=215330&menuFrom=60105#Cross does this oil seem like something decent to use?
It doesn't have the s rating for petrol engines so I'm unsure on that one. Trent the caltex depot in nerang will have delo 400 if ya wanna try that I can go you halves?
I am still doing abit of research, I have seen 2 different opinions on the matter :S Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
