Ive got an old Garmin which will do initially but even then I will still have to probably stop to put on the specs to read it properly
And it sure wont be a speed trial on the back roads .... Ive never ridden on dirt in my life

Since you're in the process of decking yourself out, you should buy yourself a good quality helmet communication system. Murdo and I used my old SENA system when we did the Apple Isle tour years ago and that worked fine. I still use it paired to my mobile to take calls and listen to my GPS (Waze App) when riding anywhere new. I think the modern systems can even pair with devices from other manufacturers.

"I've never ridden on the dirt in my life". You'll be fine, but I would suggest you maybe get a dirt bike and spend some time getting acclimated to riding off road. It can be a little scary if you're not used to your bike moving around underneath you and cornering and braking are obviously different to road riding. Different off road surfaces can be challenging as they will offer different levels of grip (slipperiness actually) and riding on the pegs is part of the process.

    PXL_20230222_074352957.jpg

I thought the brakes were a little ordinary on the ride back from purchase
At least the pistons are hanging out ready for a clean up

New sparklers, oil and filter and a throttle body sync (error code is disconnected airbox sensor)
Took an hour to get the filter off and needed a mallet to loosen the drain bolt ... bloody dealer servicing ... tighten everything with a jackhammer

Next is front brake overhaul and multi airfilter rebuild ..... then reattach the 148 trim panels

A couple of little add ons

A new chain guard saved me from cleaning the battered old one

Someone had "installed" some USB ports .... glued to the bars
The Tiger comes with 2 merit sockets so you know :help:

And now if I pull up in quicksand I wont sink :thumb_ups:

Bingo. One of the best parts of riding a dirt bike on a slippery surface is having the bike move around underneath you. Practice riding on the pegs and doing everything you do when riding normally...e.g. change gears, brake, accelerate etc. Once you get comfortable with that you can move onto doing fishtails, doughnuts and power wheelies.

Want some more rough dirt, just go to Moonbi through the gap road. My poor little cbr is still shaking from the corrogations.

All the gear and no idea :D

Im certainly not one to brand match my gear to a bike but these stood out while on FB marketplace as I didnt know 'Triumph' boots existed .... they were cheap and my size so why not .... they are pretty tight and stiff but maybe because they sat in the couriers van overnight here, they are probably part frozen :lolsign:
