I have a 1989 3ln1 fzr250r with the twin round headlihts and have been looking on aliexpress at the fairing kits they offer but am a little confused. They seem to offer 2 shapes. One from 1986-1989 and one from 1990-1995. Im assuming the one they list from 1986-1989 is for a 2kr and I noticed the front bracket that holds the fairing and clocks is different between those bikes. Does anyone have first hand experience of these fairings and if they have found any that are supposed to fit a 3ln1 or if the 2kr ones will fit without modification. Aliexpress link is below. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000585988996.html Thanks
Just be careful as you can get all sorts of mashups when ordering aftermarket, I got a 3LN3+ nose cone with round headlight mountings... totally useless
Apologies for the thread dig guys, but I'm looking for fairings for my 2kr. I'm wary of ordering the Aliexpress ones, for obvious reasons. It looks like @Linkin above had a bad experience here, what are other's experiences? I emailed Simon at acbikes.com.au asking if he had anything, he responded with only "Hope you didn't pay too much, the later 3LN is a much better bike." .....I guess no then? Site sponsor xcitebikes.com.au has nothing for this bike. As far as I can see, the next options are 'Fairing master' in the U.S. I think I'm going to get stung hard getting it freighted over so this will be last resort. Any one got any other ideas?
Two VJMC club members here have ordered them and on one everything fitted with a bit of jiggling of the bolt holes and the other fitted ok except for the tank cover was totally useless. The owner just painted his standard tank to match.
Thanks Murdo, much appreciated. I've joined VJMC, just need to pay the fee. Will take a look on there. Interestingly, the kits I'm looking at don't seem to have tank covers, maybe that was a common issue? I'm either going to go the black & gold colorway or the red/white Marlboro, I'll just get my current tank cover painted to match if I go that way. I am only missing one engine cover and the small peice in between the seats, if I can find the engine cover I'll probably just have a go at painting it myself. Thanks again mate
