    I get what you're going for. I think a larger diameter pipe is what is needed. Having seen a few ram air systems, a lot of them have the following features

    Smaller initial opening, expanding just after the inlet and then back down to original size

    As much air volume as practical in the design.

    An absence of 90 degree bends, instead with shallow curves

    Feeding directly to the air box and properly sealed.

    As its a 'race' bike , changes/mods can be/are experimental ... I see it as half the fun

    I just made this up as I went along ... the straight parts are just painted PVC drain pipe :D

    Maybe a 'reducer' silicone bend to take a larger filter to suck in more air initially

    Not trying to ruin anyone's fun but ram air? At 100 mph you get 0.17 psi of boost.

    Rough version is
    1/2 ρv^2
    where the density ρ of dry air at sea level is about 1.25 kg / m3, and v is the speed of the wind in metres per second. This will give the answer in pascals.

    Or to put it another way, on a 250 it is a complete waste of time.

    Or to put it another way , when not using the side fairing on a ZXR250 , you need to get airflow directed into the airbox.

    Cam cover gasket isnt plug and play .... needs the notches cut in to clear the cam caps and cam chain

    Anyone know what the brown wire is and why the "double'' plug is there

    Going by the wiring diagram "brown" is positive feed to many things ... ?

    White plug /harness goes to/comes from the ignition

    The blue wire looks like an add-on, maybe some needed a 12v feed for something , just pull it out and connect brown to brown

    Actually that was partly why I was asking .... I have a voltmeter tacked on so was looking for somewhere to plug it in :D

    Pulled the end off the old muffler , cleaned her up and just need to weld them together so it can be bolted on and off .... obligatory drag strip noise

    As is the airbox .... that hose also fouls the airbox , so over the shoulder it goes
    Its just too fat .... modding things is half the fun , but theres no solutions there

    You have to push forward with the air box for it to 'locate' onto the crankcase breather pipe with the old soft coolant hose , so theres no chance with this fat banana

    Yes, knew about that. I had 3D printed my fat bananas in hard plastic and sent them to one of the members to make sure we got a design that would clear the airbox, but we were never sure about clearing the carbs. I sort of gave up because I decided it was a lot easier if I had a ZXR250 here. Never seen one though.
