If you replaced some of the wood with steel, I bet it steel wooden handle.

 

@Gen - I noticed that you replaced some bearing shells

Do you have any, both big and and mains [not installed obviously] that you could measure the shell width

Did you manage to source MC19 shells locally or did you have get them from OS?

Hey it's really appreciated - I've asked so many questions on other forums for simple measurements that go unanswered or get silly answers

If I can beg one further favour - a straight [down] on shot so that I can compare the groove width a yours are 1mm less wide than the FZR250 bearing shells, but that groove looks to be thinner

 

Just a photo of one with a ruler beside it would be most excellent - that width measurement is well past accurate enough
The CBR250 service manual is the equal best I've read because it gives crankshaft measurement ranges, engine case bore measurement ranges and most importantly bearing shell material thickness ranges

Whereas Yamaha only gives colours - which is leaving us guessing and trying to measure minute 4-5 micron tolerances - but I'll get there...eventually

width will fit in FZR250 cases - tab location is similar if not identical, looks to be of similar width and the actual oil contact bearing face is close

As it turns out, I researched the bearings that I have here as it isn't marked with paint, but does have a number stamped on it D2F A

One hit that I got on google was a reference to CB350/CB400 bearing shells - so same OEM supplier for my FZR250 bearing as the Honda CB350 bearing

 

Good stuff Gen. But what is the problem you are trying to solve? I might have missed an earlier post. Have the case halves moved a bit with the welding process?

That thing is begging for fuel injection, simple intake runners to a central plenum and single throttle body. But carbs are cool

I hear you. I've looked over a few FZR250 engines in the process of making my project and it's horrifying what has been done here and there. Especially considering what little jewels these engines are. Of course they are practically worthless now so not many people are willing to spend time or money on them, except us loonies.
