This guy is a bit of a knob (he is Canadian) but it is an interesting comparison.

I watched a lot of these old time bike races during lockdown last year. This one is longish, but gets going at about 12-13 minutes in.

Some of the vids in the national archive are fabulous. You could spend months watching them all. I was trying to find a particular YT Vid I watched that had the who's who of famous riders and they were mostly spotty-faced youngsters with crew cuts! The Beatles hadn't kicked in yet!

    Good vid about Douglas motorcycles...

The original Honda RC166 and follow on variations had roller bottom ends. Its probably easier to fabricate a roller crank as well.

Interesting observation because I spent some time on forums where discussions involving Jan Thiel and the Aprilia engine development was discussed and he basically said the same thing, the limitations of the 250's wasn't piston speed, it was reliable bearings to hold the rod and crank if attempting to go any faster - not sure what the redline for the 250's was at the end

I follow the YT channel 'Hillclimb Monsters'. Some seriously crazy vehicles. This one has a motorcycle basis, so here you go.

A few motorcycle-based 'vehicles' in this lot too. HD-powered Prius and Motorcycle chariot are pretty funny.

We often forget that the intake cycle is just a series of pulses.
