That too, but I'm a bit rusty. I had to align the front wheel and handlebar again as when I torqued up the steering but the wheel was in a chock on the bench and the torque was enough to pull everything out of alignment.
And what do u think I spend half my time doing on this forum? .... fixing all the punctuation, comprehension , spelling and shitty auto correct etc etc or even deleting rubbish posts , so some of peoples ramblings actually make sense
Picked up the cb250k4 and a CL frame plus box of parts and a complete spare motor-now need a seat frame which i know where to buy.
Broke down on the motorway, bike lost power in the fast lane but cut across all the traffic safely. Suspect the reserve tap is blocked, I won't have time to investigate further as I'm away next week for work until April.
Fitted some news seals new fuel tap seals ,HT lead and found my throttle tube is broken where the return cable sits in so I need to source that and my brake reservoir is cracked . Maybe some day I will get to ride it. Sent from my Redmi 5 Plus using Tapatalk
Not quite bike (but I did some more on the Bavarian Money Waster) but bike carrier. My little bike trailer that I built some time ago needed to be lengthened as I wanted to make it enclosed and lockable for a few trips planned for next year. I extended the front by 400mm, made a bigger and stronger headboard covered with padded aluminium from an old caravan, welded in a stub axel to mount the spare wheel and hub and gave it another coat of paint. I used 20x20x1.6mm square tube to make the frame and a heavy strip hinge along the front. I found two used 40mm air cylinders in my son's shed and fitted one to each side. I used an old 9Kg gas bottle for the air tank and a two way valve from the engineering shop. I covered in with aluminium sheet pop riveted to the frame. I also used same sheet to finish the floor. A few small things to finish off yet. It gives great access to load the bikes and when down and locked the bike is completely out of sight and waterproof. Just two bolts and a few tek screws and it is back to an open trailer.
Tilting the canopy is a bit different, but as you say, gives you better access. Though 20mm box seems a bit small, but I guess once the panels are on, and if you have locators, should be pretty solid. Looks good, might be worth stealing your design! :-D Also, intrigued by the trip you're alluding to... Maybe to land of crows and salt?
Finally got some time off work, and time to work on bikes (amid the family gatherings). I got a bit of work done on brakes yesterday: KDX rear brake and VTR front brake disassembled, cleaned and reassembled. The VTR master cylinder was taken off the bike I got recently and I saw the red fluid in sight glass. I assumed it was DOT 5, until I went to wash it out and it didn't mix with water - suspect it's ATF fluid. But cleaned it all up, bled it up, worked it for a while and it is working fine - though I did modify the lever as it didn't seem to return far enough. I thought the rear master cylinder on VTR was frozen, too, but it was just air. Sorted a couple of other things and VTR just needs a pair of mirrors for a roadworthy. Then sell! Or I could keep it, they're not a bad a bike.. The KDX is assembled, but no fluid and not on the bike. But I might pull the bike down, instead. However, I am tied up for the next few days, so nothing will get done this year.
Did you get done speeding or something ? In SA we start off with 0 point's, so if we are done speeding or go through a red light camera etc you gain point's on your licence. Once you gain 12 point's on your licence you lose it for a minimum of 3 month's
