I did a love job zxr250 repair today, the owner bought the bike 3 years ago in a sorry state and bought a few parts from me to get it going , her husband is a spray painter and he did a cool paint job but the electrical gremlins were beyond him. I only did it as several shops turned them away Indicators now work ( no bulbs in the rear) , gauges were swapped out , a hugger was also fitted as it was missing and that would have failed a rwc as the hugger has the chain guard built in. All she needs now to finish the bike is some brake disks, unfortunately I am out of stock
Front or rear? Fronts are shared with other models, like zx6r and zzr600. Rear I'm not sure. I might have some I good order.
Nice work @kiffsta those guys are on the Fbook page, they have put a lot of work into it,will be good to see it back on the road.
Found myself a really good old fashioned engine machine shop that specialises in Bike engines.. so off I go with my 350 barrel and new 87mm Wiseco Piston.. when I get there he says yep.. about a week.. lets have a look at it all.. Hmmm, seems that my "std" bore 350 barrel is actually out to 87.5mm and the new Wiseco Piston floats around like a proverbial in a sock.. So I search for a replacement barrel.. and find several.. but the ones that are stock or only out to first oversize are well over the price of a new Woosner 88mm piston... Looks like this is going to be bored out to 88mm. I guess I should have measured the bore first before ordering the piston. Anybody want to buy a brand new.. never used Wiseco Forged 87mm Piston, rings and wrist pin?? Oh the joys of modifying bikes and relying on Internet sellers to be honest..
Yep... only myself to blame on that one.. OH well.. I wonder what the displacement will be at 88mm bore?
59.6mm.. I dont think 2mm oversize will make too much difference on a single cylinder. Hmm it works out to roughly 362cc I dont think it will rev out to the 10500 the 250 did though
Ride her to work today and she ran like a top , I have missed The thrill of the 4cyl 250 , any one in Queensland want a nice zxr ? She deserves more riding than I have time to give She evens till has the bugs on her from our last ride
I just wrecked a 1995 cbr600f , it was a bitsa and had a hyosung front end on it , what caught my attention was the custom handlebar , at least he could bolt on a bar end or 2
WE are currently 40.4 outside (feels like 43 so the BOM says) and a pleasant 25 downstairs in the Office. Not looking forward to 45 plus tomorrow though. At least Sat and Sunday are back to low 30's... might even take a trip down to Goulburn for the Great Southern Motorcycle ONLY Swap Meet.. should be some nice bikes and gear down there.. http://www.classicridersclubgoulburn.com.au/classic-riders-goulburn-swap-meet
