ok so after looking through the box of parts my bike came with I found the "airbox drain/catchcan" . does anyone know how it's run ? like which side of the frame it goes or where it snakes around. The diagram doesn't show it

Tony, follow the green line in the below image. Diagrams often "link" parts away from there actual location. It just hangs below the airbox and the collector goes in the wire collector at the bottom of the bike that also has your battery vent tube, radiator overflow vent tube etc.

I have never seen those bits on any zxr I have owned, but I remember looking into it myself once. Your diagram is missing the top photo which seems to show it all setup inside the airbox between the top cage where the hose runs from the air pump & inside the air filter itself, how it gets through the air filter to the drain hole, I dont know, maybe the OEM air filters had a hole in the bottom. 20180612_122338.jpg

It's just a drain for the airbox, it should run down to where the battery drain hose goes as well. It doesn't live inside the airbox. Mine is missing as well.

They have a plug in the end, thinking about it, if it is missing, it will be sucking air in. Might block mine off and see if the flat spot goes away.

Yeah I think I was definately over reading that diagram lol, I have 5 bikes & 3 spare air boxes here atm & not 1 has any form of drain hose on them from the air box. This guy was going for more air I think. 20180612_131818.jpg

Almost looks like carb water plumbing, looks as though from the diagram it might run through the front sprocket cover & around it, always wondered why that gap was there. 20180612_140017.jpg

All done. Fits like i think it should. Doesn`t foul on the chain because of the divider inside the cover .

The clear bit is only on there so you can see when its full and needs draining

Yes, sorry Tony, it doesn't go across the bike. My mistake. It's only use is to collect oil from the Crankcase vent that isn't sucked back into the engine during normal running.
