    Hi guys

    Happy new years guys

Any idea where to source the sump gaskets for these bikes, had a look on megazip and they're sold out, it looks like there is a quite a bit to it so i wonder if that makes it impossible to make your own?

    Cheers
    Logan

They are NLA from Yamaha. You can try sourcing new old stock, have a look on yahoo auctions japan (via buyee or jauce or another third party service) search via the part number.

I havent had to buy any gasket's for mine, i made a new clutch cover gasket from some gasket paper
That last gasket set i posted ^ from Aliexpress is made by AHL, so might be the best one to get

Sweet, might order them next pay, funny feeling I've had a shift fork go in the gearbox so I see an engine rebuild coming up

Be careful with those gasket sets from China ... we have had one where the base gasket contained asbestos

And the question is though is the 3LN1 sump gasket the same as the other 3LNs and the Zeal as they have a different sump due to the filter setup

Thats what I was concerned about because the 2k and 3ln1 has that.middle part, though there seems to be only one gasket for both

Custom's wont allow gasket's from china that contain asbestos to come into australia

The gasket's all look like they have the thicker section above where the oil filter for the 3LN goes
I reckon it would still work with the 2KR sump as well, whereas an earlier style gasket wouldn't work with the 3LN engine

I would just buy some oil jointing gasket paper as has been said and cut your own. Rub a thin layer of oil on the sump and press it on the gasket paper to get the outline, then cut it and go. Done it a couple times with no problems.

Just make sure you get the thicker stuff, I think its 0.8mm. You don't want the 0.4mm because the sump will have a small amount of warpage and will probably leak. Been there too...

RS125 with Rotax 257 engine. and a couple of Ossa trials bikes in bits and two Sachs rolling chassis waiting to be fitted with Gasgas 450 & 400 motors
As it acts as an anti surge, I bought a sheet of 1mm alloy and used a scroll saw to cut the gasket out.
